has done everything possible to assure that our guests experience a safe and fun equine related experience. We wish to inform our guests that equine related activities are not risk free. The same elements that contribute to the unique character and fun of equine related activities could cause loss or damage to equipment, injury, illness, or in extreme cases, permanent trauma or death. Coventry Farms asks you to follow these rules and guidelines to provide a safer and more enjoyable riding experience for all.

1. If you would like to ride during a lesson, please ask the teaching instructor’s permission.

2. While warming up your horse, at slow gait, remain off the rail and avoid those moving at faster gaits.

3. If you slow down or halt, move toward the center of the ring.

4. Keep to your right in passing all riders approaching from the opposite direction.

5. Do not stop or turn sharply without first looking behind you to see if the way is clear.

6. If someone is improperly blocking your way, call out ‘RAIL’ loudly enough to be clearly heard.

7. If there is jumping in progress, stay out of the way. The one jumping has the right of way and should not be required to look out for others.

8. Horses being led into the ring should be led on the side next to the rail to prevent them from kicking passers-by.

9. Do not ride on aonther horse’s heels. No tail gaiting!!!

10. Do not ride your horse in such a manner so as to irritate or excite others horses or riders.

11. If riding on the track to the left at increased gaits, stay on the rail. If riding on the tract to the right at increased gaits, while others are moving in the opposite direction, stay toward the inside of the ring.

12. Time your ring entrance and/or departure so as not to cause interference with others.

13. SAFETY!!! Please think safety first and include the following:
• Do not ride alone.
• Children under the age of 18 years must have adult supervision during riding and non-riding activities.
• Wear appropriate riding attire.
• Whenever there is a problem ask for assistance from an instructor immediately.

Thank You and Happy and Safe Riding.
